Did you know?
The bouquet tossing custom started when the bride used to throw her left shoe over her shoulder to indicate her new status and departure from her old life into the new, the one who caught the shoe would be next to marry! It was replaced by the bouquet to stop the bride from walking barefooted for the rest of the day.

WITH BELLS ON... meaning happy and delighted to attend which goes back to the days before the automobile, when it was the custom to deck out the horse with fancy harnesses, that drew the carriage for special occasions. That, of course, was the harness 'with bells on.'

The Bridal Gown has the most well-known superstition attatched to it. They should not be seen by the groom until the bride appears in church and that it's bad luck for a bride to make her own dress.

WEDDING DAY SUPPLIER - PET SERVICES

Your Dog At Your Wedding

"Who can we get to look after the family pets when all the family and friends are at the wedding?"

“Your Dog at Your Wedding” is an exclusive service offered by one of our Pet Wedding Services listed on The WithBellsOn.co.uk. Lots of people view their dogs as special members of the family and would love them to be at their wedding.  “Your Dog at Your Wedding” service allows them to be.

Why not surprise your Husband or Wife and give that 'WOW' factor to your guests by having your dog arrive and take part in your special day. Pet services will attend to all your dog’s needs throughout the day and many will collect your dog from your home and, if required, take them to the groomers for a wash and brush up, or have their hair cut and styled.

The VIP guest on Dave and Shirley's big day was Peanuts the family's Cavalier King Charles Spaniel

At the appointed time, your pet will be brought along to the photo location at your wedding venue. Some pet services will even put wedding ribbons on their van if you wish for that extra special touch! If you're planning to have your dog “dressed for the occasion”, they can be dressed by the pet service just before the photo shoot - otherwise their bow tie or flowers may end up as their lunch instead!

A pet service should liaise with your photographer and help your dog pose. Once the photos have been taken, they will return your dog to a location of your choice, allowing you to enjoy your wedding celebrations.

Many pet services are happy to provide both Day Care and Home Boarding services for your pet either before or after your wedding day, so you do not have to worry or stress about your pet.

We have Pet Wedding Services listed on our wedding directory but before approaching a pet service please ensure that you have gained the right permissions from the wedding venue as some places may not allow dogs to attend or may restrict the areas where your dog can go. Get their agreement in writing if you can, the person that agrees to your dog attending may not be there on the wedding day.

With your dog, have a test run; let the vicar, venue owner or person conducting your ceremony meet your dog. If your venue is unfamiliar to your dog, then let your dog have at least one visit. You could even book a pet service to take your dog to the wedding venue where they can meet you and return home with you, so on your big day they will be calm and happy.

For more details on this unique service please contact one ouf our pet services listed on the WithBellsOn Wedding Directory or our friend K9 Capers who have branches nationwide
