Red and green are naturally the colors typically chosen for a Christmas Theme Wedding. Your venue location may already be decorated but do not feel you can not decorate to your taste or colour scheme. Howabout all white, white and silver, white and light blue, silver and light blue, gold and cream for examples.

Christmas Wedding Theme

Reflect the season inyour wedding inviteations, cake, dress and flowers. The grooms waistcoat could be of a rich red design and add a champagne gold cravat or tie.  Berries and leaves added to the buttonhole would add some wow factor.  The bridesmaids could have different shades to compliment the theme, a mixture of burnt orange and burnt red.  Sprinkle some fresh herbs in the church to have their scent released as they are walked upon.  Try tying some dried herbs to the ends of the pews using rustic twine.  The meet and greet drink could be some red rum.  The table decorations could be pressed dried leaves on white linen with muslin over the top.  Oranges spiked with cloves and dried herbs tied with red ribbon will add a touch of colour.  Pieces of willow and seasonal berries will make a dramatic sight.  Gold coloured chocolate hearts could be attached to the back of your chairs.  White card with dried oak leaves glued on them with guests names written beneath in gold pen would be a warm welcome to your guests.  Toffee apples would make excellent favours.  Fireworks woulld make for good entertainment.

AUTUMN THEME

Autumn ThemeThere's a reason that countless little girls across the world imagine their wedding day from a very young age: it's one of the most important days of our lives. And with this in mind, it's perhaps not a surprise that planning for such an event can be a very intricate process. From flowers to catering, centrepieces to DJs, there's a lot to do and - more often that not - not much time to do it.

If you're about to get married, there's a good chance that you've already experienced at least some of this frantic wedding planning. If you're the one responsible for sorting everything out, it can be an incredibly stressful experience. Thankfully, there is one decision that brides-to-be can make which is relatively simple - when to have the wedding. You could of course go for a classic summer wedding, but how about something a little more special? An autumn wedding or themed wedding can bring together a wonderful mix of colours, moods, and clear weather to make for an unforgettable day.

If you haven't really given the date of your wedding much thought yet, you'd do well to look into autumnal weddings and how magical they can be. Plus, having a theme like this on your wedding day will focus all of your other organisational efforts. Choosing an autumnal theme will give you inspiration in terms of decor for the reception, potentially dresses and other bridal wear, centre pieces, and much more. One great idea is to have a brainstorming session to discover the ideas that inspire you. Get a big piece of paper, scribble the word 'autumn' in the centre, then start linking ideas from there. Before all this of course, you should try to book the date itself.

Any time during October would be perfect for an autumn wedding, and with a theme carrying through the day, you've got a real recipe for success.  Your wedding day will be remembered by you and your loved ones for years to come, so you’ll want it to be absolutely perfect. Having a prevalent theme like the autumn can be very helpful in achieving this goal. Plus, it will help your planning process and give you a constant source of inspiration when you need it. And here’s to an autumnal wedding that’s truly one-of-a-kind!

THE LOVE THEME

Especially great for Valentines (Feb 14th).  Invitations could be sent to your guests with heart shaped confetti inside which cascade as they open the card. Your wedding dress would look beautiful with touches of red.  Red roses close-packed in a tear drop bouquet would look fantastic against a white dress.  The groom could have heart shaped embroidery on his waistcoat, with a single red rose as a button hole.  The bridesmaids would look stunning with a red wrap to keep out the chill, and some red dorothy style slippers.  To create an impact, concentrate on intense red colours in the church decoration and venue.  Maybe a fairytale castle to add that touch of romance.  Pink champagne with a lush red strawberry handed to your guests as they meet and greet.  Confetti on the reception table and a vase of red roses in the centre on a white table cloth is simple yet stunning. On the chair backs you could place heart shaped containers filled with heart shaped sweets.  Why not have some heart shaped biscuits made to have as name placings, with the guests names written in icing.  Chocolate hearts are ideal for favours.  Smoked salmon, Chicken in red sauce, fresh red fruit with creamy ice cream for the meal would complement the theme perfectly.  Instead of a large cake, why not have made hundreds of individual cakes with iced hearts.

EASTER THEME

Invitations could be sent out within an Easter Egg. With a note to eat asap, so those invites get read!  Spring flowers in your bouquet of lily-of-the-valley or pastel sweet peas, or maybe daffodils could be complimented by the grooms button hole.  Pastel colours for the bridesmaids and the grooms waistcoat would look fresh and help capture the sense of spring.  At the church you could have "Spring" by Vivaldi whilst you walk down the aisle.  Try and get a venue with a lovely garden for the wedding photos.  Pimms would make a lovely refreshing drink. The tables could be decorated with white feathers and minature Easter eggs.  Why not have pastel coloured table cloths and centre pieces that compliment your bouquet.  Easter eggs could be used as place settings, with names written in white chocolate.  Fresh salad and a light buffet with edible flowers would make an unusual dressing.   Line dancing would be a great way to get the party started.

SEA

Getting married by the seaside?  Why not have a sea theme, this is ideal if you are having a summer wedding.  Your invitations could be sent out as a message in a bottle. Whites and blues would be a lovely soft summery colour for the flowers and the grooms waistcoat.  A single white flower in the buttonhole such as a white rose could mimic what is found in the brides bouquet.  Bridesmaids could wear pale blue chiffon dresses with layered white net skirting.  Tables could be covered in blue cloth and scattered with silver-wrapped chocolate fishes.  Candles around the table will help soften the look.  You could place the main centre piece in a round goldfish bowl with coloured sand and shells. On the back of the chairs you could hang a treasure bag with silver coins inside.  Names of your guests could be dangled from the tallest glasses on a 'fishing line' or have names written onto pebbles.  Fish for your meal with a seafood starter would be delicious, but please remember to check for any dietry needs such as allergies.  Why not cover your wedding cake in star fish.  You could have cornish pasties included in any buffet!

21st CENTURY ~ CONTEMPORARY

Be advised that if minimalistic is not done careful you could end up with a sterile wedding.  Invitations could be designed on your computer and e-mailed.  Arum lillies in your bouquet and on the tables are simple, elegant and beautiful too.  Give your bridemaids a striking colour in contrast to what you plan to wear.  Oriental theme at your reception would be fantastic for this theme, and made better with candle light or soft ambient lighting.  Remember that mimialism is the key.  Have smooth stones used for the place settings with guest names written in permanent ink.  Fortune cookies in individual boxes make great favours.  A funky live band or state of the art disco would be the perfect entertainment.

Other theme ideas::  Caribbean / Historical / Hollywood / Medival / Cartoon Characters
