Give wedding guest a lottery ticket as a wedding favour

Ask both parents to give you away

Use bubbles rather than rice or confetti

If using candles, put drops of aromatherapy oil in them to release into the air when lit 

Always ask for a testimonial from other satisfied customers before paying a deposit

Try contacting your local college to enquire if they have student musicians who could play at your wedding

Beware of booking a date on the same day of an important sporting event

Consider wedding insurance for those unexpected events

Choose flowers that are in season on the day that you marry 

If you have children attending your reception, consider entertainment for them or a tv room to show a movie

Give a selection of accomodation information along with your invites and a map to the venue

Plant a tree in the garden and watch it grow along with the marriage

If you have time, write your thank you notes before the wedding

Get the best man to rehearse his speech prior to the big day 

Send your partner a gift to receive on the morning of your wedding to help settle their nerves


Pre wedding, go away for the day, doing something non wedding related and fun

Never be afraid to ask for photographic proof of previous work

If you know where your guests are staying, organise small gifts for when they arrive to their room

Ask your guests to inform of dietry needs or allergies in their RSVPs
