Creative wedding websites, designed and built to host all the information your guests need to know

What is a wedding website and why should I have one?

You may want to save paper, or have the ability to add or edit your wedding day plans as you go along. That’s where wedding websites come in really handy! Wedding websites have increased in popularity, especially when nearlyweds have multi-day wedding plans and have guests coming from out of town. They’re a wonderful, flexible and stylish way to get your aesthetic brand to jump off the paper with dynamic movement and design. You can collect all your RSVPs in one place, even if guests are opting in and out to different activities or food choices.

You may have found templates like With Joy or Zola that allow you to do some of the things you want, but are restrictive in the features or styles they offer, or maybe you’ve found that they have too many options and you’re overwhelmed with getting started. The beauty of having a professional designer is that I can guide you, collaborate with you and take off as much stress as you need me to. I will build you a wedding website that does exactly what you need it to, and it’ll be stable, reliable, functional and look just right.

I use Squarespace as the foundation for creating wedding websites. This website you’re on now is built with Squarespace too - so you can trust that I really invest in the products I use. They have over 110 different templates that work across desktop, tablet and mobile view. There are lots of really cool image, animation and video features, too. Your guests can easily access all of your details and RSVP straight through the site. I can create QR codes on your wedding invitations, so guests can scan them easily and reach your site seamlessly.

In terms of gathering responses, you have a few options. I can integrate a tool called RSVPify which helps you track all of your guest list RSVPs and quickly see which guests you need to follow-up with. You can group members of your guest list, allowing one person to respond for their whole household. This is an add-on, and if you are super organised or a whizz with spreadsheets, you might decide just to collect and organise RSVP responses yourself. I can build your website to accommodate all of this.

If you’re nifty with website builds but not the design part or you want more control over the style when using a template site, then I can offer a smaller package. I export all your logos, illustrations and imagery and package them up with fonts and colours for you to run with when building your own website.

I’ve written a more in-depth blog post about wedding websites and why you might want one. Check it out here! You can also watch some videos below of some wedding websites in action.

A black tablet lays on a wooden table on top of a wicker placemat, next to a pot of coloured pencils. The tablet screen shows a wedding website with a lightning bolt motif, open on a page showing guests where to stay.

How it works

You can choose a style from the house collection or we can do something bespoke together. Once we have your aesthetic nailed down, I can get the body of your website together within two weeks. You will have access to change text, add pages and I’ll always be a helping hand as you go forward. Alternatively, if you want me to make all of the edits along the way and never touch the website design or info yourself, I can do that too. I can send you a form to fill out which will help you with writing the content for each page, and I can show you examples of websites I’ve built before.

It will usually take 2-4 weeks to complete your website, dpeninding on the amount of information and the complexity of the design. If you like, I can create a digital image or printed postcards with your site address or QR codes on, to send to your guests.

Wedding websites include a year’s worth of hosting, which can be extended if you’d like. You can have as many pages as you want, and you can have your own custom domain name (which is your web address - for example, ‘ashandkai.co.uk’)

Process and timeline

Week One: Research and ideation

Firstly, we get together your style, by looking at your inspiration, mood board and any ideas you two have. I’ll send you a quote, and when you’re happy with it you can sign a contract and pay a £200 deposit.

Next, I’ll design you a few mock ups so we can discuss the direction. Based on your feedback, I’ll create the basis of your website and show you mobile and desktop views so you can see it working across different devices, test links and play around.

Weeks Two to Four: Linking up RSVP, designing and testing your site

We flesh out the details of your site, add all of the text and pages and integrate the RSVPify tool, if you choose to have it. I test it on different devices to ensure it works for everyone in each way they’ll view and interact with it.

We can the create an image or postcard for you to send out to let people know to head to the website! When you’re ready for the website to go live, I’ll invoice you for the remaining fee. Part of the package for wedding websites is that you get unlimited changes, even after your website is up. I’m your sidekick, and I won’t leave you hanging. I’ll hold your hand and guide you through the process transparently, and then when you’re happy to run with it I’ll leave to you it!
